El orbana

What is Orbana?

The orbana is round, it is in a circular shape, because a circle has no beginning and no end, just as Jesus has no beginning and no end, but is from everlasting to everlasting.
The Orbana bake in room called “Bethlehem” which started off as a grain of wheat. Along with other grains of wheat, ground to become flour.

The deacon who bakes the Orbana, took the flour and mixed it with water and yeast, and he shape it into a beautiful round dough while praying the Psalms.

Finally, he stamped The Orban with a special stamp and put it in the oven.

Special Stamp has a picture of a big Cross in the middle. The big Cross is surrounded by twelve small Crosses. There are also five holes in the Orbana. The letters around the Crosses are Coptic and they mean “Holy God, Holy mighty, Holy immortal”.
